New ADI EngineerZone DSP Support Forum

Started by AndyRose22 June 17, 2009
I thought the group would be interested to know that Analog Devices has launched a new DSP support forum called EngineerZone at http://ez.analog.com.

This forum is monitored by ADI DSP technical support engineers and contains an extensive amount of information about our Embedded Processors & DSPs. Use it to search FAQs and technical Q&As to get quick answers to your design questions. You can also connect with other DSP developers who face similar design challenges. Check out the site and let us know what you think.

Howdy Andy,

I think it's a great start! You might want to get rid of the "Fourm
Feedback" category since it says "you can't create discussion threads
here", because it means you obviously really don't want any feedback.

I think you should also have a category for "DAC's, ADC's, and other
periferals". A lot of the discussion here is about how to interface the
DSP to the periferals in addition to pure programming on the devices.
That would make your forum really complete and allow you to put plugs in
for the FAQ's and datasheets of Analog Devices other products.

Thanks for letting us know about it, and good luck with it!

Hi Mike-

Thanks for the kind words and feedback on EngineerZone. We definitely want
feedback on the forum so we can continue to improve it. In order to post to
any category in the forum you need to be logged in. After I got your
message I looked at the text that displayed in the Feedback category by
default and realized it made it seem like you couldn't post there at all. I
posted a brief message in that category that will hopefully clear up the
confusion.

Your suggestion on adding the additional categories is a good one and
something we are looking at. We decided to start with the broad product and
software categories and will be continually monitoring the discussions to
see what other topics bubble up. We'll use this information to create new
categories in the forum.

Thanks,
Andy

Hi,

Although "independent" groups or forums like comp.dsp, or adsp@yahoo!, or blackfin.org or even the SHARC and Blackfin groups at LinkedIn already host a very large amount of information are a de-facto meeting point to discuss technical issues, having a site which is vendor supported is the really needed next level, since now not only we as users of the ICs and tools can exchange experience and knowledge, but also can have a much more direct support from the vendor itself.

For some time I've had the impression that although ADI's ICs rock, support and literature are not that strong, which definitely is something changing in the right direction.

I am sure that others have the same opinion, and for sure it will spread the word even more about ADI's offerings.

Kind regards,

Jaime Andr Aranguren Cardona
