TI PCI-EXPRESS CHIPSET

Started by yati...@hotmail.com October 26, 2010
Hello,

Can anyone please let me know which TI DSP supports PCI express. I would like to replace my current TMS320C6412 DSP with PCI express bus.

Thanks,
-Yatin

1. goto ti.com
2. select DSPs
3. select 'Select a Device'
4. select PCI [this will give PCI + PCIe devices]
5. select any other required support.
6. look through the selected devices for PCIe support [it is a bit
frustrating that it is not a separate option].

Hi Mike,

Thank you very much. I followed all the steps you have outlined. But still I don't find any DSP with PCIe. Looks like TI has no DSP with build-in PCIe.

The technical support group of TI is making me jump here and there without giving any answer.

Have you come across any other vendor DSP chipset with build-in PCIe?

Thanks,
Yatin

Yatin,

the new "Integra" processors TMS320C6A8167 and TMS320C6A8168 come with
PCIe. Unfortunately this feature is not displayed in the selection table,
but the product pages mention "PCIe 2.0, one port x2 lanes"

If you can get past the sorry user interface and expand the 'IO
Peripherals' column, you will see PCIe.

Mike,

thanks for this hint! I have always used the "static" selection tables, not
the interactive selection tool - seems it is time to upgrade ;)

Thanks, Adolf
