DSKeye daughter Board for DSK6713

Started by pabl...@ctag.com May 9, 2011
Hi.
I'm going to buy DSKeye board (http://www.bitec.ltd.uk/dskeye.html) for my DSK6713. I'm searching projects with it and people who are working with it (or maybe in the past...).
Thanks a lot

How is this working out? Did you get the DSKeye daughtercard? Did it include some ready-to-use examples for the DSK
6713? It seems like a nice daughtercard, with great flexibility. However, I don't see specific mention of DSK 6713
support -- or for that matter any mention of the C6713 -- on Bitec's website. As I had mentioned to you before, the
DSK 6713 is from the 2003 time-frame. I would think one of TI's recent DaVinci DSK or EVM boards would be more
suitable for image / video processing, both in terms of raw performance and reference algorithm and code examples.

Also I was wondering about the 10/100 interface on the DSKeye... what is the max rate on this? I can't find it in
Bitec's data sheet. In your project, do you have need to send video packets over UDP/IP rather than TCP/IP?

Ok seems that you got the DM6437 EVM board -- that should be an excellent platform for your project. Unlike DSKeye,
you'll need external video inputs.

I noticed the authors used the HPI interface add-on, to provide faster host data transfer rates. The DM6437 EVM board
can be used as a PCI card, so you should have the same benefit.

Overall, sounds good.
