Hello:

I have a Motorola DSP56367 processor. I wanted to know more about,

(1)  reverb algorithm in assembly language

(2) use of comb filters to create reverb

Please let me know if you have worked on creating sound effects with DSP , effect such as distortion, pitch blend , chorus ,, etc.

Thanks so much.

If you have access to a good library, you might want to take a look at
"Musical Applications of Microprocessors" by Hal Chamberlin. The sections
on reverb & effects are short, but the author is very good at clear,
practical, explanations.

There's also the article "About This Reverberation Business" by James A.
Moorer, published in Computer Music Journal, Volume 3 #2, which you can
download at http://www.jamminpower.com/main/articles.jsp
(and thanks to your question, I now have an electronic copy as an alternate
to the faded photocopy I had in my files)

You may also want to read whatever you can on "convolution reverb".

John

In the late 1980's/early 1990's there was a really great reverb implementation for DSP56000.  You might be able to find the assembly source files if you search the web. If not, let me know, I might still have them.

There was also an article in Dr. Dobbs Journal in the 1990's about using a PC to do audio effects.
