pricing informations and availability of G.729A for commercial use

Started by Costi Stan June 4, 2003
The company for which I am working is developing a communications
software system based on VoIP technology. We would like our software
to include audio compression facilities provided by a G.729A voice
codec. The following topics are subject to our interest:
-licence for commercial use;
-source codes for Windows and Linux (Intel) or at least a C library
(compatibility with GCC 2 or above should be preserved).
We are loooking for pricing informations and availability of G.729A
audio compression codec.

Stan:

C code for G.729 is available from the ITU. You should go to their web site and
you will be able to download three free items. The code is not with the main
spec but rather in annexes.

To use the code commercially, you should contact a company called SIPRO in
Canada. They are the licensed organization to represent the major companies with
claims to intellectual property re G.729. Chuck
