hi, I have a basic doubt regarding image analysis uaing wavelets. Is it correct to compare the details in one level with the details of another level (ie., in terms of frequency). As we say details are hich frequency regions, can we say that a detail at level 2 is higher in frequency than a detail at level 1.. As i am a begginner to this subject, kindly someone help me out with this doubt.. waiting for someones help, regds, rukmani |

One usually doesnot compare the different levels of the decompsoed image. They are usually freqency ranges. What you can do is just measure the frequency conetent in each level. Apart from that the high pass levels is only edges and why would someone want to compare it with the approximation level low pass.
