As always, back up your old development system before installing and test thoroughly. The easiest way to back up is simply to zip up the VisualDSP directory tree. I'd be interested in hearing others' reports of success or problems with the service pack. This can be downloaded from the below link: http://www.analog.com/dsp/tools/upgrades Please note that the service pack contains compiler version 6.2.4. We released a later compiler patch version 6.2.5 on the same day as the service pack, this fixes issues reported before the service pack was released. Please ensure you install the service pack before installing the compiler patch as stated in the release note attached Regards, DSP Tools Support Downloading Instructions ======================== The following URL will take you to our patches directory:- ftp://ftp.analog.com/pub/tools/patches The filenames you require are:- sharc_compiler_6.2.5_20030807.zip sharc_compiler_6.2.5_ReleaseNote.doc Please Note within this site are fixes and patches to various VisualDSP++ releases. Many of these patches are "hot fixes" for a number of problems. As such, they typically have undergone only rudimentary testing and perhaps no formal quality assurance at all. Even less frequently are patches tested against each other. Users are highly recommended to only use the patches found herein when directly guided to do so by ADI technical support. From time to time, available fixes are gathered together and formally tested. Ultimately, these patches are released as "service packs". Only at that time is the general user community guided to update their tools. If you should encounter problems while trying to download from our ftp site the following suggestion may prove helpful. In Internet Explorer go to Tools > Internet Options > Advanced Go down to 'Browsing' section and make sure that the box entitled: "Enable folder view for ftp site" is ticked, in some instances this box is not ticked by default. If you continue to have problems we would like to suggest that you access ftp.analog.com using username 'anonymous' and your own e-mail address as password. Once you have successfully connected please issue the following commands:- cd pub/tools/patches bin get <filename> bye If you have any problems please e-mail ********************************************************************** DSP Tools Support DSP Development Tools Product Line Analog Devices, Inc. e-mail: ********************************************************************** CROSSCORE, Analog Devices DSP Development Tools ---------- End Forwarded Message ---------- | |||
