Hi everyone! I'm an engineer student in my final year, and I want to design a digital guitar effect processor for my license project. I would use a TMS320VC5507 DSP with PCM3060 for data conversion and processing. A 16bit SDRAM for sound looper, and PIC based user interface via I2C. I have some trouble wiring up the CODEC and the RAM to the DSP. I've read the documentations regarding McBSP and ...

Dear all, I am working on C5502 DSP. In all my previous projects, I have used C5409 and C5502 DSP. I have always used them in HPI Boot mode. Now I want to use C5502 DSP as a Micro processor, i.e., I want to connect Flash with DSP. Code will be present in Flash. At power on, boot mode for DSP should be "No boot, execute from 16-bit external asynchronous memory (micro-processor mode)". At powe...

Richard- Thanks for your reply. The last one, "in the board", was a good guess. The second one ("knee" glitch in TCK signal) we wrestled with during initial development of this module 3 years ago. The image in my original post shows an example of this before and after. -Jeff Richard Williams wrote: > Jeff, > > This link may help: >

All- I'm posting this question here, the global knowledge source for TI JTAG related issues :-) I have a batch of C5510A modules that are showing inconsistent JTAG scan test results. Out of 6, 3 are passing, two with buffered TCK and RTCK, and 1 without (without = bypass the buffer using zero-ohm Rs). The failing modules also are configured both ways. Due to this variation, I'm concerned...

Hi, I'm having problems with the use of DMA to control transmission through a serial port. Specifically, the generation of frame/half-frame interrupts and the reliability of the DMACSAC register. I've set a buffer of 40 x 16-bit elements that are used in a ping-pong style to serialise data to a codec; I'm relying on the frame/half-frame interrupt signals to tell me when to swap buffers for w...

Hi All, I have a code where I work with static memory allocation due to performance considerations. Buffer sizes can be parametrized by changing a macro. But now I have the problem that every time I change from buffer size X to buffer size Y I get different linker errors like: - .bss spans page boundary - placement fails for section xyz What I do normally is adjust section sizes, exclu...

hi, here the detail of my problem: i purchased EVM C5505 and AFE for implementation of ECG. i successfully connected it to pc. the guide which came with it said to follow the steps for ECG i.e 2. Power on the VC5505 EVM using slide switch SW4. 3. Open Code Composer Studio. 4. Click on Debug ® Connect in Code Composer Studio to connect to the VC5505 EVM. 5. Click on Project ® Open in Co...

Hi all, I'd like to do periodic DMA transmission from DARAM to EMIF at 1kHz with the C5509A. Therefore I use a timer and I perform a DMA_start inside of the timer's ISR. When I look at the signals at the EMIF, it seems that very often the DMA doesn't start and that this happens very irregularly. Just to complete the picture: if i symbolize successful transmissions with a T and unsuccessful...
