VisualDSP++ oddities

Started by Gabriel Abreo April 23, 2005

Hello Group,

I'm currently using VisualDSP++ 3.5 with the Nov '04 patch and occasionally get "connection to the target" error messages when I stop and restart a session. It gets to a point where I have to restart my machine in order to reconnect to the hardware and the session.

It happens only with the USB-ICE tool from ADI when using the EZ-KIT-LITE board and any of my custom target boards.

My configuration:

WIN2K, BF533 EZ-KIT-LITE, ADDS-USB-ICE debugger,

Has anyone seen this behavior?

Has anyone experienced any problems with version 4.0 and the Blackfin family?

I have not used the Blackfin, but my guess is you need better grounding.
Make sure all your boards have a really good connection back to the PC
ground. USB is a differential low voltage transmission - you need a good
ground for it to connect well.
