Multiplexing Video Data into the BF533

Started by mbre...@hmc.edu December 12, 2005
I am trying to connect 4 digital cameras to a BF533 board to do image processing including stitching. Each camera will need a 16 bit interface with the DSP. Currently, I am looking for a development board that can mux together the four cameras into the DSP. I would look at higher power DSPs, but the power constraints of the project are very tight. Does anyone know of such boards? Are there alternative ways to get this many bits into the DSP for processing? Thank you very much for any input.

The best thing to do is figure out your data rate. Once you know how many
16 bit words per second you need, look for any boards that can handle that
rate. You may need to add the mux yourself, but if the board can do the
thruput, it can handle the muxing too.

Once you know that data rate, look at the serial data rate of 16 times
that level. Can the BF533 handle it? If so, you have an alternative.

Sounds like a challenge. Have fun!
