booting 21062 from flash memory

Started by joshy jose January 19, 2007
hai friends,
1) i wish to boot the adsp 21062 dsp from flash memory using the EEPROME
booting mode of this processsor, is that possible?

2) there need to be any change for this booting from the flash?

3)i am thinking about this because using EEprom is very costly(EEPROM
writer)?

Yes, it is possible.

No, you just have to wire the boot chip select to the correct line on the
eeprom. They are not usually the same pin out.

A long time ago I hooked up an eeprom to a 2106x device. I used a
debugger to load code into the processor, and had that code program the
eeprom. So the main trick there was to connect the write enable. I
strongly suggest putting in a buffer driver between the processor write
enable and the eeprom. I blew that line out of the processor some where
in that project! but it definitly works.
