Hi guys. I have that development card, and I want to use within the VisualDSP 7.0 (or maybe with SP1), but although the projects compile fine, I think the (old) Monitor program doesn't allow me to use it within VDSP 7.0 Does somebody have an idea on how can I accomplish this? The Monitor70 program that come with the upgrade just works fine for the ADSP 2189 processor, and maybe using a different dev. card. Please, HELP ME!!!! |

The problem is that the new tools don't generate the correct format file for the old EZ-Kit. It shouldn't be difficult to write a conversion program, someone might already have done it. The 2181 ezkit came with its own windows utility. You should use that to upload/download your .exe files. Visual DSP 7.0 is obsolete. You can now download the much improved visual-dsp 2.0. True but there is a conversion program already written along with the tools to enable to convert this into a format to download the code to your old EZKIT LITE. With the first release it didn't work and since then I upgraded to the 2189 EZKIT LITE board but I put in a complaint to Analog Devices and got it entered in their bug list (get this.... they had never actually tried it?) I think the application does now work O.K. but to be honest I haven't tried it since. It's called..... "elf2aexe.exe" You cannot use the new Visual DSP to debug code so you'll have to try and keep the old monitor program to download the code. Regards Pete |
