Tiger Sharc LDR/DXE related question - Accessing the init value of a global variable

Hello All,
Is there a way to tell what the initial value of a global variable has been set to from the ldr or dxe file?
I am trying use a global variable for version control and would like to see how access the global variable without having to load the code into H/W or simulator.
