multiprocessing using 3DSPs

Started by srik...@gmail.com September 27, 2011
please anybody can help me about the connection of 3 ADSPs(TS201S) for multiprocessing and flash booting.
Hi,

I would go to the Analog Devices website and look at the EZKIT for the TS201
first. It shows how to connect two TS201s through both the External Port
and through the Link Ports. The hardware reference manual goes into more
detail on how arbitration between processors works in the External Port
chapter. Going through the external port allows up to 8 TS201's to be
connected together with a programming model that enables any one to access
any other processor's internal resources. Each CPU would have a unique hard
wired address (0 to 7). Link ports can be used for point to point
communications between two CPU's. The Link Port chapter provides additional
information on how that peripheral works. Some multiprocessor systems use
just Cluster Bus (ie External Port connection), some use just link ports,
and some use a mix of the two. The first chapter on Architecture provides
an overview on how MP systems can be configured.

Flash booting is described in several chapters. External Port talks about
connecting the flash device to the TS201, the DMA chapter talks about the
special DMA transfer mode that performs the 8 bit to 32 bit packing, and the
System Design chapter talks about different boot modes and how the boot
process functions. ADI provides example code that sets up the DMA and
External Port to flash an application into the flash device, as well as boot
kernels (code that is booted first and then extracts your application from
the flash device and transfers to memory) for each boot method.
