Tartan C/C++ Compilation System

A web contact suggested I contact the members of this newsgroup regarding
our compiler problem. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and hope
you
can direct me to a quick solution.

We're presently using the 'lite' version of
a Tartan C/C++ Compilation System to operate a TMS320C3x Floating Point
DSP. Several years ago we tried to upgrade this to the full system and
were told at the time that it was no longer supported or available, and had
been superseded by a new NT based compilation system. Unfortunately, this
new system doesn't work for us because we link to our DSP through a 486
computer that operates under DOS. This link requires a little resident
'talker' program, written for DOS, that translates the output from the
compiler to the TI. The new NT compilation system lacks (amongst other
things) this little DOS program, making this upgrade path unusable.

Well, we've put up with this 'lite' version mostly because we know the
basic hardware design sucks, and the whole embedded architecture is in need
of a redesign. Unfortunately, we've not yet gotten the time to redesign
and now realize we can't get the instrument fully operational with the
program length restrictions imposed on us but the 'lite' compiler. From my
perspective, unless we can locate a copy of this software, we'll be forced
to do a crash redesign of the embedded portion of the product, a task we
have neither the time nor the manpower to pull off and still me our other
deadlines.

Tartan was bought out by TI some years ago, and the folks at TI say that
even they don't have a copy of this floating around. We've tried the
various 'normal' channels to locate this software and all have reached dead
ends. Would any of you have some ideas, contacts, user's group, etc. that
you can suggest as a place to go for Graveyard Software?
