PROBLEM WITH DSK C5402

Started by Unknown October 28, 2001
Hi

I am working in a group on the project(audio spectrum analayzer).
We are using TMS320C5402 DSK. Our problem is that even without
running any program (like audio.c or volume.c) we have always output
on the speakers that comes from CD player connected to the
microphone. When we run volume.c we cannot hear any difference even
the gain is 10 and the program is loaded and executed without any
errors. We performed the test "evmdsktest 2" and it seems to be
everything O.K.
Does anybody knows why we have output even without running any
program.

Thanks

Hi,

is it possible that you've loaded the program into the flash ram on the board?

Martin.

Hi,

there's no direct connection between the audio in socket and the audio out
socket. If the board has no power you shouldn't have any signal at the audio
out socket. It's of course possible the board is defective. I would expect
though that you'd be able to see any solder blobs which might be shorting out
two paths. Otherwise I guess you'll just have to return it to TI.

Cheers,
Martin.
