PC microphones tend to be cheap "electret" or condenser type that need some power
(voltage), which is typically provided by the motherboard sound circuitry (or sound
card).

I don't recall the DSK C6711 has a mic input... I think it has one line-in input and
one telephony input. So you might have to figure out a way to get some power to the
PC mic you want to use, or stick with the dynamic mic (typically independently
powered, for example a battery). Also, according to the AD535 sheet:

you can set gain for the input amplifiers to 20 dB... maybe that would help.
