Hello, Another daughter card that you might consider using is the one sold by TI, which also uses the PCM3003 stereo codec. The part number is: TMDX326040A. The one sold by Integrated DSP is nice and small, does not require fiddling around with jumpers and does not have (chances are you won't use them anyway) the microphones that come with the TI one. The draw back is that if you want to buy ONE, you use paypal and buy it; if you want more than one, you use paypal and get dinged delivery charges for every one of them (unless it's been fixed since the time I used it). The manual for the TI daughtercard is awful; the Integrated DSP card does not need one (plug in and off you go), and it comes with a CD with examples, etc. For code examples, you can also look at the educator's exchange site on TI, or look for the book by Rulph Chassaing called "DSP Applications using C and the TMS320C6x DSK". The examples and appendix provide you with enough explanation. You can always get the example code from the Chassaing book and adapt them (not much to do) to the Integrated DSP daughtercard. The bottom line is that these two cards are almost the same in hardware and software; I'd suggest you go for price. If you are a large university, go for whichever one that can be donated to you ;-) Cheers, bkf@ ----- Forwarded message from J G <> ----- Date: Fri, 13 Jun 2003 10:35:05 -0700 (PDT) From: J G <> Reply-To: J G <> Subject: Re: [c6x] Daughter Card Interface to 6711 DSK To: kool_karni <> Hi, You probably could interface that card to the DSK. However there are companies that sell daughter cards with stereo CODECs on board. Integrated DSP www.integrated-dsp.com is one such company. Thier boards come with support software and example algorithms. One of the examples is an adaptive noise canceller based on an LMS algorithm I believe... Hi KK and BKF, The problem with PayPal and shipping has been fixed!! It was quirk at first but has been corrected for a while. Glad you like the eDAC-PCM3003. There are more examples on the website at http://www.integrated-dsp.com/software/c6xdsk/eDAC-PCM3003/. Our hardware will work with Chassaings code almost unchanged. Our chief engineering helped Rulph with some of the examples in the book. Our high end card the eDAC-Audio512 is mentioned in an appendix. BKF, you are right both cards are similar in hardware but ours has no jumpers, software selectable sample rates, and better examples (of course that is a biased opinion :) ). Pick one and you should be off... Good luck... iDSP Team. > ATTACHMENT part 2 message/rfc822 > To: > CC: > From: > Date: Fri, 13 Jun 2003 15:49:38 -0400 > Subject: Fwd: Re: [c6x] Daughter Card Interface to > 6711 DSK > > Hello, > > Another daughter card that you might consider using > is the one sold by TI, > which also uses the PCM3003 stereo codec.
