SDRAM problem

Started by mpucpu July 12, 2003
Dear all

I've got a problem with the DSK board (c6711), I hope you can help me
on this one:

when i load and run the POST program, which is included in the
examples folder in the TI directory. i can not pass the SDRAM test.
the problem happened in the following addresses:

address20001C
address200020
address200024
address200028
.......

however, when i run the confidence test (without host), the SDRAM
test is done well. what is the problem

Hugo,

It is possible that the two tests use different algorithms *or* that the EMIF is being initialed differently for the two tests.

reported SDRAM failures - >99% caused by incorrect EMIF setting, <1% by actual hw failure.

I sugest that you verify the post EMIF setup with the DSK GEL file.
If that is okay, modify the "no host" confidence test to use the same algorithms as the "post" test - you can add "pattern written" and "pattern read" to begin to identify the source of the problem.
