hi
is any one using the c6711dsk with the pcm3003 daughter card??
im trying to program it using the new matlab -simulink block set. and how do i
access the two data??

if there is any other software that i can use, which will be much easier than
matlab pls let me know??

any help will be great!!!

Hi Vai,

As far as I know you cannot directly access PCM3003 Daughter card from simulink blockset for TI c6000 DSP. The blocks that are present in simulink allows you to connect to onboard codec AD535 through input and output audio jacks and not to daughter card.

If you want to use Simulink blockset to do this then you will hav to write S function ( some specific format that u hav to follow when writing the code in C , ADA or some other language). In my opinion its better to invest your time to write C code in CCS rather then writing code for S function, cos that will add one more place to look for error when u r debugging it :-)

If you are looking for easier approach than matlab, then you may want to hav a look at Hyperception RIDE software or VAB software. Its simple drag and drop block diagram kind of software where you can make your code very fast. But I am not sure tho whether they hav blocks for PCM 3003 daughter board. Maybe Jeff or someone from signalogic can answer that part. Or u can look up their info on web and contact them.

Finally if you cannot find anything simpler than matlab then go for C programming ... its not difficult ..just give sometime to learn the CCS interface.. then u can find lots of codes for PCM3003 codec. you may also want to refer to  " DSP applications using C and TMS320c6x DSK" by Rulph Chassiang.  He has talked abt this particular codec .... and also has got some programing examples in appendix F

Hope this piece of info helps..

Tarang
