Hi , this is with respect to a problem that we're facing with our DSP TMS320C6416E version. The problem is that , sometimes , when CCS is initiated using the emulator ,XDS510PP ,the wrong version of the DSP is identified and CCS hangs. Also , we have been getting data verification errors during loading. When the CCS is recognised as C64xx , the program hangs and after subsequent retrials , the correct version c6416 is sometimes identified. When 6414 is recognised , the program doesnt enter the main routine , and hangs at the disassembly. This problem is also faced with C6416 D too. Driver being used : sdgo6400_11 Please send us a solution at the earliest. Thanks and best regards , Ramya |

Hello Ramya,
The most likely causes of your problem are:
1. Downlevel drivers.
Have you checked the SD web site to ensure that you have the most current
version of their driver for the XDS510PP??
2. Unreliable JTAG communication.
Does 'SD config' [I think that is the name of their scan chain
test] run correctly every time??
3. The target is not getting reset or configured properly everytime.
If you bring up CCS and see what device it recognizes. Close CCS, do
not reset anything and bring up CCS again. Repeat test several
times.
If it always recognizes the same device [6414 or 6416] until you reset [or
power cycle the board] then the problem most likely lies with the target reset
or configuration.
Let us know your results,
mikedunn
