Target Initialization Problems.........

Started by simha j March 12, 2002
Hello all,

I have ccs 2.0 and Emulator drivers from Spectrum
Digital.
I have connected the Emulator (XDS510PP PLUS) to my
own hardware
board(cantains single C6211 processor) and I have
configured the
ccs in emulator mode. But I am encountering the
following problems-

When I Configure Using 'Setup CCS 2' and launch the
application
I am getting the following error.

1. " Trouble Reading CPU Memory: Timeout on Target
Processor
Please Check Cabling or Multiprocessor
Configuration "
(Emulator LED is ON)

When I cancel this message CCS window opens then I am
able to open
a project and build it. But When I try to load the
.out file on to
target, I am getting the following message and I am
not able to do it.

2. " Target Endianness doesn't match, Check the Build
options or Setup
Utility"

i don't know what to do at this point.

and one more thing, when I launch CCS again I am
getting the
following error:
3. "Can't Initialize Target CPU"

But when I open the SDconfig Utility and reset the
emulator
and again launch the CCS, I am getting the first
error(1).

I have checked the Parallel port, Power supplies and
cabling.
Everything Looks to be very fine.

All these things I have tested under :
Win98 ,128MB RAM, Pentium3, 866Mhz.

Looking forward to Your Solutions......

Simha

Hi Simha,
it seems that TI CCS V2.0 have problems with third party boards,
because I do also experience the same problem. I'm using a c6701 board
from Innovative Integration. What I do is first load a very simple
application thru a small terminal applet, which comes with the
package. And then open CCS and load my application to the board. Do
not reset from CCS, if you want to load a different version of your
application just use reload. It does not load a different application
however.

As for the second problem, check build options of your code, there
just switch the endiannes.

Hope this helps.
