Booting problem

Started by simha j June 4, 2002

Hi all,

I am working on 6211 based system.
I am trying to boot the DSP through Host. (Host is an
intel's RISC processor)
After downloading the code to the intenal mem. of DSP
thro'h host port, I am writing '1' to DSPINT bit of
HPIC register so that DSP wakes up.
My problem is: sometimes DSP starts execution and does
the intended job and at other times it is not doing it
although internal mem. contents are perfectly correct.
i.e., once I write '1' to DSPINT, control is hitting
at 0th location and starts execution and if I run the
same program(from the host) to set DSPINT at someother
time it seems control is not at all hitting 0th loc.
and the reqired task is not being achieved from DSP.
What could be the problem here?? Looking forward to your solutions...

Simha

The DSPINT only acts as a "wakeup" signals the first time after a reset.

When the DSP is running DSPINT is a interrupt signal.
