Where are the serial ports (McBSP) on TMS320C6711?

Hey everybody,
This may seem absurd, but I do not understand where the serial ports
(McBSP) are on the C6711?

My board is:

Basically, I need to connect a serial plug coming from another
electronic machine, in order to make the DSP get some data back from
this machine.

By the way, is it possible to use the parallel cable HPI to achieve
this (assuming the machine's plug is a parallel plug)? It would mean
using the DSP to get data from another machine using the HPI port.

Thanks and Regards

Hi!

please read the documentation for your board and find out that the
serial ports are called McBSP and you can connect to them via on of the
extension ports. I think J1 or something.
The McBSP ist not like RS-232. You will need MAX232 to interface.

If you even could not find the connector, you will have troubles
programming the McBSP i believe. Anyway, you should read spra633b then.
For 6713 there was a driver development kit including a nifty serial
port driver for the DSP/BIOS operating system.

When i startet with the dsp6713, i was a dsp-rookie, and it took me 2
weeks to connect a bluetooth device with a rs-232 serial port and
transfer data.

I do not know anything about your hpi parallel port.

ciao, Sven
