CCS 3.1 does not work with DSP/BIOS projects under Windows XP with standard user privileges.

CCS 3.1 does not work with DSP/BIOS projects under Windows XP with standard user privileges.

I just upgraded CCS from 2.21 to 3.1 on a PC that runs Windows XP Professional with SP2. I must use this system with standard user privileges. Installation worked without any problems under administrator privileges and registry entries 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\GODSP' and 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Texas Instruments' were set to full control for my user account.

When I run CCS as standard user, I encounter no problems as long as I work with projects that do not use DSP/BIOS. However, If I try loading a DSP/BIOS project, I get a dialog titled 'Project Update' with the message 'CRegistryInfo::GetSABiosRegKey() could not find BIOS registry entries'. If I then select any of the DSP/BIOS analysis windows, like 'CPU Load Graph', I get an error dialog with the text 'Unknown error. A required library is not loaded: vbd.dll'. I do not encounter any of this problems if I log into my PC as an administrator. A TI Knowledge Base search did not reveal anything that would address my problem.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Roland

Interesting problem. But am not sure if it worth investigating at all
assuming you can resort to logging in as adminsitrator all times. But of
course it might be revealing to understand why it so happens. I would like
it if you let us know, how you solve it. :-)

Unfortunately, I'm not able logging in as an administrator all the
times. My working PC is maintained by our IT department which naturally
does not give me fulltime administrator privileges.
