Excess bandwidth for synchronization

Started by thesdr March 4, 2011
Hello,
I read in a paper that energy for synchronizers is embedded in excess
bandwidth of modulation signal. What exactly does it mean? Can someone
please help in explaining this concept?
Thanks.

A bit more context would be helpful. Was the paper about specific signal types? Did the author mention _why_ this was? If the paper is on line, it would be helpful to give a link, although not everyone will read it for you. -- http://www.wescottdesign.com
