If this is indeed the guy I think it is, then it is Christensen not
Christianson. I don't know what he did, though.

check http://cnmat.cnmat.berkeley.edu/~tristan/Resume/parameq.html there was one assumption of the peaking EQ that i made that probably wasn't valid (that the gain at Nyquist would be 0 dB). Orfanidis fixes that a little and comes up with much more complicated coefficient calculation equations.

well, if i knew how to spell, i wouldn't be an engunear. Knud gave a poster session presentation at the last AES in NYC entitled "A Generalization of the Biquadratic Parametric Equalizer". It adds a symmetry parameter that can, with the single twist of a knob, morph a high-shelf EQ into a symmetrical peaking EQ, and into a low-shelf EQ. howzat? r b-j
