I have the C6711 DSK but was wondering if there were any more suitable boards available once you have done your evaluation. By this I mean something (small) with flash memory, two A/D and two D/A for instance and all battery powered. It should also have a USB or download port for the program.Or do I have to design my own! regards Tom

Hi Tom, micro-line embedded DSP boards offer a good follow on step after using C6000 based DSKs. They are small (down to 98x67mm), support a TMS320C6711/12/13 or TMS320C6211 DSP, have up to 64MBytes or RAM, and incorporate FLASH ROM for embedded and stand-alone use. A serial port is available for updating the FLASH stored application program, and there are options for A/D/A, FireWire and Ethernet. You can also integrate your own peripheral hardware to the DSPs EMIF. Without knowing your battery capacity, it is hard to tell if micro-line would be suitable. If it is, the C6711CPU is probably the nearest micro-line option to what you are looking for: http://www.traquair.com/products/microline/c6x11cpu.html Regards, Steve. http://www.dsignt.de/products/dmodule/d6711.htm => C6711 in 2.3" x 3.3" format, 2M flash, 16M SDRAM etc. We are using the D.SignT VC33 board and like it a lot. Purchases are through Spectrum Digital in America, however email support from Germany has been excellent, always getting replies the same day. My company has used the TI 6713 DSK and we find it to be an excellent platform. It has all of the 6711 functionality with the addition of dual channel A/D and D/A using a AIC 23 audio grade part. You might want to look at this DSK. You can buy this direct from Spectrum Digital.
