matlab and spectrum analyzer

anybody know how to or where to go to learn how-to setup a
spectrum-analyzer with matlab?...what about free software spectrum
analyzers?

Matlab don't set up nothin. I don't know if you want to send commands 
down an RS-232 cable to an instrument from inside Matlab or do you want 
to use Matlab on a PC to emulate an instrument?
