I am doing a bit of research on current technigues used for
speech enhancement / noise suppression and I came across the following papers:

J. D. Johnston, "Transform coding of audio signal using perceptual noise

Your local (university) library should be able to help you out. If you ask 
the people you work/study with, there may be somebody who are members of 
IEEE and can download the papers for you through ieeexplore. You may even 
want to join IEEE yourself.
