Hi all, I had posted a question a few days back, expressing that i was intended to do a mpeg coder decoder. From the replies that i got i have understood that it would a huge project. I shall express my wish. We are 3 guys here, we are actually want to explore the field of DSP (it is very vast, i am aware). Just learning from the book would not be enough. So we decided that we must do some project. Can any one suggest some good project that we can do which will be usefull as well as make us good at DSP. Let it be audio video compression or anything related to DSP. Please let it not be too simple. We would like to do some moderate if not too complex project. regards prasanna

This, because you could find more resources, references, help, etc... Just my opinion. JaaC> > regards > prasanna

I tend to agree with Kevin's answer - voice and audio codecs are still a challenging project but are a better bounded task. If you get through that and are feeling smart, JPEG or JPEG2000 would be be a good next step. Then MPEG-2 or even MPEG-4 or H.264 if you have a year to put into it. -- | | Mark Nelson - markn@ieee.org - http://MarkNelson.us | The Ultimate Compression Resource - http://www.datacompression.info | Sponsored by Xceedsoft.com - Serious About Components | "pachu" <pachu_um@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:c985418f.0307280254.1fbc9bd8@posting.google.com...> Hi all, > I had posted a question a few days back, expressing that i was > intended to do a mpeg coder decoder.
