How to connect AC'97 codec to ADSP-218X?

Started by qhe September 4, 2004
Hi all:

Since AC'97 codec (such as ALC100, ALC210 from realtek) is much cheaper than
AD73322 for a stereo project, I'm thinking how to connect AC'97 codec to
ADSP-2185 DSP. But the serial ports of ADSP-218x is not so flexible as mcbsp
of TI's, it seems very hard for it to connect to AC'97 codec.

Is there any references, examples to do this job?

Thanks.

It is a little tricky to interface an AC-97 to most DSPs including the 2185. We use an AC'97 codec with our DSP-8300 (ADSP-2186 based) module. You might find the module useful. We also will license the code for a one time charge. Check out the module on our website and email us if you are interested. -- Al Clark Danville Signal Processing, Inc. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Purveyors of Fine DSP Hardware and other Cool Stuff Available at http://www.danvillesignal.com
