I know very few about communication protocols
If I am to put my ideas practically,
what hardware and software shall one need to create a small communication system.
I am completely new to this.
My wish is that I create a small communication system and transfer data.

With a length of wire, a battery, resistor, LED, and Morse key you can set up a telegraph to transfer data. No software will be required.

Or even easier with no batteries - use two empty bean cans and a piece of string...

Or a piece of paper, pencil and a pigeon, see RFC 1149. -- -TV

To avoid the *EXTREMELY RUDE* rude replies you've received give more details. This group is focused on "Digital Signal Processing" q.v. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_signal_processing

[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communications_protocol] There can be overlap. Give us a one paragraph description of what you wish to accomplish. I also suggest browsing browsing links at [https://duckduckgo.com/html?q=%22how%20to%20ask%20a%20question%22]. HTH Have a happy and fruitful New Year

I've been doing something like that most of my life. Except my Morse Code system is newer. It's wireless ! Works well.
