My name is Barry Kahn and I'm the DSP R&D Manager for Silicon Optix. I am posting this message to invite talented engineers to join our algorithm development team at the Teranex division in Orlando, Florida. More precisely, we are looking for engineers with a passion for image processing. Not only will you be developing cutting edge video applications, but you will get to host them on a SIMD architecture which doesn't require that your creativity to be compromised by hardware limitations. In hours (minutes if you're good), algorithms can be conceptualized, coded, and run in real-time. This SIMD architecture was developed at Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin) during the 1980's to perform the computationally intense Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) algorithms. It has been used for applications ranging from matching fingerprints, to terminally tracking intercontinental ballistic missiles. This technology was later sold to Teranex in 1998 for the purpose of commercialization. Our products now include $200,000 video computers found in the top post-production houses in the world, down to equipment you can purchase at your local high-end AV store. If you're looking for a career in image process, this is the place to work. I count myself as one of the lucky few who look forward to getting to work in the morning. If that's the kind of job you want too, send me an email at barry@siliconoptix.com. Silicon Optix Inc, a privately held fabless semiconductor company, is the leading supplier of advanced video/image digital processing integrated circuits (ICs). The company's products are driving three unique technologies into a broad range of markets: a patented, powerful, array-based programmable DSP for digital video, industry-leading software algorithms from Teranex and proprietary eWARP geometry processing. Its mission is to leverage these innovative technologies into ICs that will enable the next generation of digital video/image capture, transmission, distribution, editing, storage and display solutions, with an initial focus on large area digital displays including front and rear projection. Silicon Optix is headquartered in San Jose, California, with operations in Hanover, Germany; Orlando, Florida; Taipei, Taiwan; Shanghai, China; and Toronto, Canada.
