Hello,

I am new in OFDMA for 802.16, I wonder how can we calculate bit per symbol
in wimax ? does this depnds on modulation and coding ? supposing that we
QPSK 3/4 ? how can I know the number of bit per symbol ?

thanks,

It depends on what you mean by "bits". The raw number of bits is given by the product of the number of data sub-carriers, the number of bits per constellation symbol (e.g. 2 for QPSK) and the overall code rate. However, for "useful" bit rate, you must also take into account the various protocol overheads, which is pretty complicated in WiMAX. -- Oli
