Hello all, I am interested in the above subject and wondered if anyone was familiar with it in terms of: - are there any good books on the topic? - is software available for this? I am considering attempting to make my own software on a modest scale but I don't want to start from zero if it's all been done. Thanks for any help, Jacques

Hi Jack. The only book (on this topic) I know of is @Book{KLAPURIBOOK, editor = {Klapuri, Anssi and Davy, Manuel}, title = {Signal Processing Methods for Music Transcription}, publisher = {Springer}, address = {New York}, year = {2006}, ISBN = {0-387-30667-6} } As for software, you may want to have a look at the many wave to midi converters.
