Frame Synchronization

Started by cau2danang August 29, 2007
  Hi,

I'm doing simulation in frame synchronization of OFDM by using Cocentric
System Studio. My task is to generate preamble and do sync in both time and
frequency domain. Channel model is not necessary.

Does anyone have any idea or any sources related to my task ? I'm a
newbie in communication. So it would be best if you give me some
fundamental sources about synch in OFDM and some simulation models? Thanks
a lot.

Without a channel model, whatever you do may not be very meaningful.
Especially in synchronization. But here are some references for
starting.

M=2E Speth, S. Fechtel, G. Fock, H. Meyr,"Optimum Receiver Design for
OFDM-Based Broadband Transmission-Part-2: A Case Study": IEEE Trans.
Commun., vol.49,pp. 571-578, April 2001.
Yun Chiu, Dejan Markovic, Haiyun Tang, Ning Zhang, "OFDM Receiver

Daniel Landst=F6rm et al., "Symbol Time Offset Estimation in Coherent
OFDM Systems", IEEE Trans. Commun., vol. 50, pp. 545-549, April 2002.
Jan-Jaap van de Beek, M. Sandell, Per Ola B=F6rjesson, "ML Estimation of
Time and Frequency Offset in OFDM Systems", IEEE Trans. Signal
Processing., vol. 45, pp. 1800-1805, July 1997.

You would of course need some have communication basics.

Hope it helps.

Hi Piyush,

Thanks for your reply. Actually I have to implement a channel model in
later stage. Do you have any source about modelling amateur radio (RFI)? I
know that amateur radio interference is a narrow band tupe but I don't know
how to model it?
