Then you have asked for it in precisely the right way.

It was for somebody (my boss!!!) who needed it urgently...anyway english is not my first language ! this isnt of priority anymore.

The first thing you should learn in a language (first or not) is a little manners (please, thank you, how to ask for something, etc). Not knowing that will be a handicap to you the next time too. This should be a priority for you. Dirk

Hi Dirk, your post tickled me (you're so old fashioned Dirk). I've often wondered why posters here sometimes treat us in a way that they would *NEVER* treat someone at their workplace. Can Ya' imagine what would happen at work if you stood in the office doorway of a person you've NEVER met before and announced, "I urgently want some easy to implement methods/algorithms for image downsampling." Ha ha. If that happened to me in my office I'd say something like, "I don't know who you are, and you *want* something from me!! Well, frogs want wings so they bump their asses, now go away and come back when you've learned some manners." [-Rick-]

" this isnt of priority anymore." I meant this for my original question and not for the language issue. I will anyway take that advise.

Yeah well that's a pile bullshit. If some stranger showed up in your doorway with that question you would think he was a loon even if he asked with plenty of please and thank-yous. Personally I like to read posts that are clear and that get right to the point. Lord knows one can waste enough time reading posts from people that in the end turn out to have said nothing at all. -jim

Hi Rajesh, Even if the requirement is for you or for your boss, one thing to be remebered. Even if it's a face to face conversation or a mail, words should be used judiciously. People in Comp.DSP are always willing to help others, even in between their busy shedules. If you ask a question properly, you will definitely get response. Don't ask a question in a way that you are paying salary to them...

Hi, Your comment is very telling.

In that scenario, which is quite different from my scenario, then I would help if I could. All I'm saying is that good manners yield more help than bad manners. Surely you don't think that is BS. Jerry Avins has a very useful web page supplying guidelines on how posters can maximize their chances of receiving help on this newsgroup. One component of Jerry's guidelines is the recommendation to use good manners when posting a question. [-Rick-]

%%%%% Dear All I accept that good manners are compulsary in any case, writing, speaking... But sometimes it is difficult to judge anything from the written conversation...(I am saying from my own experience). I think that the person who started this thread, has learnt that next he will have to use good manners. Chintan
