Started by Nitin Madhukar Yewale January 24, 2003
Hi,

Generally if program is writing to unallocated memory then gives
core dump in UNIX or VC++.

How should I get such memory dump using CodeWarrior tool?

Nitin

Nitin,

If you are talking about the CodeWarrior IDE crashing when you
say "writing to unallocated memory" then at the current moment a dump
is not created by the CodeWarrior IDE. However, in CW for DSP56800
R5.1 the IDE will provide a dump file that the customer will be able
to provide to technical support to hopefully track down the source of
the problem in the event of a crash.

Currently, on CW for DSP56800 R5.0.x the IDE only supplies an error
message with an address in most crashes which doesn't lend much
information to help track down the problem.

If this is not what you meant when you say "writing to unallocated
memory" then perhaps you can clarify and I can answer.

Regards,
John
