"Cannot connect to board" problem

Started by aritidhar November 16, 2005
Hi all,

I'm using the DSP56F827 for almost 4 years now. And after I changed
computers, I'm having problems with the connection to the board through
JTAG. The problem appears with the CodeWarrior and the flash_over_jtag.
Plus, it appears on our proprietary board and on the EVM too. I can't
connect to the board.
The funny thing (not so funny :-( !!!) is that I tried using a
different computer with the flash_over_jtag, and it happens too!!!

Other devices (like adifferent company's board) connect with no problem.

I am perplexed.

What can it be?

Thank you in advance,

Ari

Hi Ari,

yes, I know this phanomaen. Had the same 5 years ago with DSP56F807 / 05
Processor. Couldn't figure that out even with the support from Metrowerks.
With my desktop computer it was working but not with my notebook. The funny
thing was, I figured that out after reinstalling my computer a couple of
times that it had something to do with the Windows Operating system,
together with the computer. I always got a fault when I wanted to go online.
It was just a faultnumer something like 11700 or similar too long ago to
remember, I forwarded this to Metrowerks, but....anyway Desktop:
Win2000: ok
Win95/98: ok Notebook:
Win2000:not ok
Win98: not ok
Win95: ok, no problem And that was either on the EMV as well as on the developed
Motion-Controller-Board. So I always have an old Win95 Partition on my
Notebook to develop software with Metrowerks DSP Compiler.

Cheers

Hi,

Several years ago, had trouble getting the Metrowerks tools working
for the DSP563xx family. The problem was finally traced to an out of
date driver file, windriver.dll. CCS has to be able to find this file
and it needs to be current with the tools, otherwise the debugger
can't deal with the hardware at the other end of the command
converter.

Hi All,
Is there any refernce PI Controller code with
saturation limits available for use with the
DSP56F8013 ? I need this as a seperate code since iam
not using the Processor Expert for PI controller code.
