Hi, I have cross compiled the AMR-WB+ C reference code distributed as part of the 3gpp spec and it is able to decode the AMR-WB+ test files. Now my question is, 1.Will this decoder decode AMR-WB files?(.awb files/.if2 or the .cod files that come with the test suite spec for AMR-WB). 2.What does it take to make this decoder decode those AMR-WB files(.awb etc)? Will just tampering the headers...

Hi Speech-Coders: I know the overall decoder complexity of AMR-WB and WB+. Is there any source from where I could get a break-up of decoder complexity (in WMOPS) estimates for "various blocks" (e.g., LP synthesis, post-processing, etc.) in AMR-WB and/or AMR-WB+? It would be nice numbers to have ;-) Best Regards, ~Arijit

Dear Members of the List: I have a question regarding the "perceptual weighting filter" used in the AMR-WB (also in the AMR-WB+) codec that is standardized in 3GPP and ITU. Please check the 2002 Journal article from the developers of AMR-WB, where they present the perceptual filter (pages 8-10, and Figures 3 and 4). http://www.gel.usherbrooke.ca/audio/docs/IEEE2002_Bessette.pdf#search=%22pe...

Nice to have found an interesting site to discuss speech coding stuff. On the first look it looks like GSM AMR and GSM EFR have lot of commonolity. Standard says GSM AMR at rate 12.2k behaves exactly like GSM EFR. So it looks like GSM EFR is subset of GSM AMR. Can

Hi friends, I have implemented complete AMR-NB Enc-Dec on proprietary DSP chip. As we know AMR-NB works on 8 rates from 12.2kb/s to 4.75kb/s. One thing I'll still not clear is - Why in 12.2kb/s rate LPC analysis is done twice as compared to other rates whe

Hi All, Had a small doubt regarding the AMR codec. Why is the file size (file obtained at the output of an AMR-NB codec) constant for all AMR rates even though there is a different bit allocation for each 20 ms speech frame of the input file corresponding to each of these rates.(Besides the file size is also larger than that of the input file). Am still a novice as regards this codec and...

hi all, I am implementing Voip App on nokia devices. I have API to AMR Decoding. I want to implement my own VAD. the reason is that it seems that the AMR VAD doesn't give good performence. In my app, I need to close down delays from the channel and I want to know which frame to throw away. also, Its always nice to save some BW by sending less frames. so, what I have at the TX side is ...

Hello, I am implementing a simple mixing program (i.e. create a new sound file combinig two initial files - all the same format). I have implemented this for WAV files (PCM) and now I want to support AMR. I can do this in 2 ways: 1. convert to PCM and reuse the mixing code - I cannot find any documentation on how to convert an AMR frame to PCM samples. What happens after I reorder ...
