hello, i am trying to use a 21065l's serial port. it says it is i2s compatible, has a separate line for tx, rx, txclk, rxclk. though i am tring to connect it to an i2c compatible device, whose serial port has only a data line and a clock line. could i still connect the two? or do i have to use the chip's clock generator and an output line. also, the adsp-21065l ez-kit lite can be connected to a pc using an rs-232 cable (for the visual dsp++), how can i make my own board that uses the same sofware to debug the board that i am making.. thanks.. carlo |

They aren't the same! Do a web search on i2s and i2c and read up on the differences. I have been bit by this before, but fortunatly for me didn't have to actually convert one to the other. If you want a low cost debugger check out the www.beastrider.com jtag unit. You can debug your custom board a whole lot easier. Patience, persistence, truth, Dr. mike |
