FW: Debug problem for ADSP-21262

Started by Sergio Garcia Castillo May 3, 2006
Hi!

Have you tried to run the Visual DSP configurator? , the software should be
able to run your platform without any error, lets say the ICE Test with
continuous scan, if you have done this and it works fine then you would like
to read the jtag application notes from analog devices in order to be able
to power-up your dsp correctly before you connect the emulator (i think some
jumpers are required). Alternatively, if you have a reset button you can
connect the emulator to your hardware, restart the dsp while entering to
VSDP++ in emulator mode, as soon as you see the first window "crosscore
VDSP++" (the purple one) release the reset, it should work as well. If none
of them works, start the VDSP as simulator with your hardware connected to
the emulator, then change the session from simulator to emulator. It may be
useful for you to check the JTAG frequency as well in the "settings" menu,
you might like to start from the slowest just in case (10Mhz).

Hi!
Thank you Sergio.I don't know why part of my previous message lost...The ICE Test is successful, finding out 1 device in JTAG chain, and the continuous scan is successful too.But when going on,VDSP says Unable to halt processor.JTAG communication failed...Reseting when activating VDSP session does not work.My JTAG port connection: Pin 5 pull-up by a 4.7kohm resistor,TMS,TDI and TCK pull-up by 10kohm resistors,TRST- pull-down by a 4.7kohm resistor, others connected to ground.Thanks.
