Hi! I am using VisualDSP++ ver.3.0.1.0 with SP1, Apex-Ice emulator (firmware ver.1.10.0) and Ez-kit Lite board with adsp21160 DSP on it. The debugger is driving me crazy because it crashes all the time and there is no way to kill debugger process, I have to restart the whole machine (Windows 2K). Does anybody have same kind of trouble with debugger? Usually debugger crashes when starting it from Environment. Sometimes it crashes just for fun. Also I had a problem when writing to external memory (starting from 0x00800000). Debugger crashed every time I tried to access to external memory. Then I change boardID from 0 to 1 in Ez-kit, and now I can write to external memory. BUT, when I am writing to even addresses in external memory , it copies the same data to all even addresses and vice versa when writing to odd addresses. Does anybody know tricks for this kind of problems or should I beat the shit out of Ez-kit board. Does anybody know good links where are code examples for 21160 written in C? Does anybody use Ez-kit Lite and Apex-ice emulator for REAL development work (like I am trying to do) and are happy with it ??? Thank you, Janne |

Debugger crashes in VisualDSP++ environment
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Bridge/6581/21kdsp.html ...and you should be able to find snippets of code on the FTP site: ftp://ftp.analog.com/pub/dsp/2116x/ Hope it helps. Mark McMahon. > Does anybody know good links where are code examples for 21160 > written in C? > |
Hi, Janne. I use the ADDS-21160M EzKitLite for what you call "real work", but certainly not with Apex ICE, rather with MTN Ice on Win98 and I am happy with it. Perhaps can't help too much, 'cause your problems seem to be ICE-specific. You could contact ADI support, (if you haven't done bofore) at d...@analog.com. A little bit delayed, but they help. What I would like to know is how to implement a Parallel Port interface to the Kit. I mean, I need to transfer the data I want to and from a host PC, but it seems to be complicated because the monitor is using it with the CPLD. Have you ever done something like this before? Any example? Regards, Jaime. j...@artic.net wrote: Hi! Jaime Andr Aranguren Cardona |
