I have an application where I need to use a DSP in conjunction with an 8051-based processor. I foresee using either DMA or a dual-port- ram as the interface between the DSP and the processor. The vc33 is adequate for this application, but the University kit does not appear to provide access to busses. Is this correct? Are there manuals and schematics available for this product? -Axel- |

Are busses available on VC33 University board?

Hi Axel The VC33 DSK does include connections to the data and address bus, but they no longer use the 0.1" headers that was used on the older C31 DSK. Rather, the new connections use the 'common daughter card connector' format that was adopted on the other DSP families. These connections use a higher density surface mount connector that is in this case on the bottom of the board. Also, to help keep the cost down (by about $50 for parts, labor and test) the connectors are not included with the board. As for getting hold of the schematics, go to this link and download the SW package. In it you will find a Windows help file (DSK3HELP.HLP) that contains the schematic, plus the original PDF file in the directory \DSK3\DSK3\IMAGES http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/tmdsdsk33.html Best regards Keith Larson ====================================== aloerchner wrote: I have an application where I need to use a DSP in conjunction with |
