TMS320C5416

Hi, My name is Michael Andersson.

I have acquired a TMS320VC5416 DSK which has an USB port on it.
In the documentation, it says something in like "this USB port, with
embedded JTAG controller, eliminates the need for an external emulator".
However it dosnt say, whether it can be used for anything else.

My question is, does anyone know, if its possible to read from the USB
port, from a program that is running.
More importantly i need the kit, to pop up as an extra drive on the pc, when
I connect it. this means making the kit run with the windows driver
"usbstor.sys". Does anyone know, if its possible to reconfigure the USB
controller, from a program running on the kit, to be a "mass storage
device".

I would be very grateful for any input, even if its not directly related to
my questions. If you have any information that you think i should know,
regarding the USB on the kit, or precations i should take, please tell me.

Michael-

I don't think TI intended the board to be used that way, so it will be some fun
things to figure out -- but also very time-consuming from a project development
point
of view.

I think you might have better luck with something like the Audio4 unit with
C5410
processor, which has USB support on both host and DSP sides, from Domain
Technologies:
