Thanks to those who emailed me with your suggestions, it fixed the "data verification at FF80" problem. You need to peform a GEL routine 5402_DSK_Init before you load the coff file. Then perform a Reset DSP, and everything works fine. Note, however, sometimes the coff will not load on the first 5402_DSK_Init performed. Sometimes, I had to perform a C5402_DSK_Init as many as three times before it would load the coff program. Also, you need to make certain that the C5402 DSK dip switch #2 is up, so that MP/MC=1 ie. operates in microprocessor mode when hard reset is performed- note the GEL standard C5400 gel normally sets MP/MC=1. And another thing, to those people who are having a hard time like me getting the C5402 DSK to talk to Code Composer, I have these suggestions: 1. Use a very short parallel cable between the computer and card, the shorter the better. 2. I found that the DSK card does not like other things hanging off it, in my case it did not like my flashcard reader. So if possible, get a switch box, so that only the DSK is connected to the computer when it is needed. 3. If you still get a "can't find port error..." when starting up Code Composer, try turning power to the DSK card off and then on. This normally fixes the problem. Note, you may have to do this many times ! (my power socket going to wear out) 4. Make certain that you have set the correct port address in Code Composer Setup. And for my final comment, the C5402 DSK card is most temperamental card I had ever had to connect to a computer, and wish TI did better job beta testing the card before production. Having to do these work arounds is a pain in the ass. So I will keep battling on with this card, until the next problem comes up. Maurizio Gencarelli Royal Australian Air Force Australia P.S.
