I need some feedback from your experience regarding the TI 5509 processor? We are concerned that the part may not be sufficiently "mature". A few minor bugs are to be expected. We are just trying to get a feeling of whether the current 5509 is excessively troublesome. Or is there a better solution in the 55x family (5502, etc.) We've heard that the 5509 is based on the 5510 and that the 5510 had some ugly issues (unstable registers, etc.) as recently as the beginning of this year. Is the current version of the part relatively "stable" or is it so new and riddled with bugs that it will represent a serious hurdle in a new design? We've seen the errata sheet and it is fairly troubling and contains some rather sub-standard work-arounds...but perhaps it isn't current? Any feedback would be greatly apprecited - hands on feedback is the best source. Thanks! |
