C6711 bootloader

Started by afshin_power June 2, 2003
I am designing a control board around C6711 processor from TI and
noticed that I have a problem if I am loading
my code from external ROM and that code is more than 1K.
Is there any software boot loader and / or procedures that copy my
program from ROM to SDRAM an starts it, overcoming this 1K limit?

Thanks in advance...

We had the same problem and wrote a small ( <1k ) bootloader that loads the
larger program. Basically, the small bootloader just does a memcpy. We wrote it
in linear assembly. Its not too difficult.
