SWI without DSP/BIOS on 6711

Started by neeli bhaskar reddy November 5, 2004

Hi all,
can anybody suggest how to implement SWI without
DSP/BIOS on c6711. I did't find any interrupt vector
location to map a SWI.
I implemented this way,

I mapped interrupt selector value 10 ( No default
event mapping for this one, given as reserved) to
INT15. This INT15, i configured to SWI. Whenever i
want to trigger my SWI, i am setting the flag
corresponding to int15. I think its working ok. But in
future if this perticular interrupt selector value 10,
is mapped to some peripheral as default. Then it may
be difficult to use that peripheral or SWI may be
triggered by that peripheral.

I feel its not good practice do as above.

Can anybody suggest good method to implement a SWI or
guide me to a document which describes it.

Thanks in advance

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to do. Anyway, SWI is a
DSP/BIOS artifact, that is, purely software and there isn't a vector
interrupt associated to it. The name may lead to misinterpretation. If you
want to use it in your code, you have to include <swi.h> and probably lots
of other header files. Or, use the CCS configuration tool, which for me is
the best approach.
